GA-Z77-D3H - PCI Drivers

Got my Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H installed with my 560ti, Asus Xonar DG sound card and 2 port serial PCI adapter. I've installed the sound + graphics card drivers, I don't remember installing any drivers for the serial port card.

In device manager I have:
PCI Parallel Port
PCI Serial port
PCI serial port

All of these have error 28 (drivers not installed). I have installed all Windows updates and drivers from Gigabytes website. Any ideas?

Annoying considering on my last mobo the USB to serial port driver wouldn't work so I went out and spent like £15 on this PCI card!
 
I don't remember installing anything (I don't have a DVD drive - though might have given me a link. Chucked the box in the bin -.-

Just looked at description and it says "Easy Plug & Play installation automatically selects IRQ and I/O address". Though it also says "Win98/98SE, ME, 2000 and NT4.0 compatible " but it worked on my Asus board with W7.
 
Random stab in the dark, what Windows was you using with the previous build, 32-bit or 64-bit? There might not be any 64-bit drivers for the card.
 
Exact same version, 64 enterprise (using enterprise as got given key from work).

Emailed the company I bought the card from anyway. I always have problems after a build :( this and also my HDD issue.

Isnt there anything on the card to id what make it is or what controller chip is on it so you can download the drivers ?

What do you need serial ports for anyway ?, wouldnt you be better just replacing the hardware your trying to attach to your computer ?
 
Will have a look on the card.

Use them for my Cisco lab, so no choice really. Well there are USB adapters but with my old motherboard they didn't work so I bought the pci card.
 
Gigabyte will only have drivers specificly for the motherboard, Windows will have generic drivers for most newer hardware.

You need the drivers for your card from the card manufacturer or at least from the chipset manufacturer, I wouldnt have thought it would be that hard to find out who made it, otherwise its trial and error untill you get it to work.
 
Tried a couple of drivers, no luck.

I switched the card slots though (so serial one is where my sound card was), Windows then found drivers and installed them. Windows update also found a driver, that one isn't installing as its coming up with an error; though it doesn't matter anyway as it's working :)
