Hi all, my first post here and hopfully many more to come :)

Ok, my problem is when sound from some areas is played, for example off a disk or over teamspeak, my FPS crashes to crap all.

Now I used a "Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Soundcard", which caused problems from disks and the internet. I switched to the soundcard that came with the motherboard, which is a "Abit AW9D-MAX Intel 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard" that comes with a small relteck soundcard.

FPS can drop from 200 when all is quiet down to around 5 when someone speaks over teamspeak for example.

Ive got all the latest drivers, reinstalled several things and uninstalled them etc, changed on-ship audio controller on the CPU, and im at a loss at what to do here :( if anyone can help that would be fantastic :)

The rest of the rig is as follows:

PSU: Antec TruePower Trio 650W PSU

MotherBoard: Abit AW9D-MAX Intel 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)

Memory (Ram): Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB)

Grapics Card: BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

Hard drive: Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 NCQ 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache

Dvd Drive: LiteON LH-20A1P-487C 20x DVD±RW x12 Ram Dual Layer DVD-Writer

Monitor: Samsung SM-206BW 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Headset: Logitech® Premium Stereo Headset

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Media Centre 2005 Edition

Keyboard: Logitech G15 Gaming-Grade Illuminated Keyboard

Mouse: Logitech LX3 Optical Mouse

Thanks for any help, rather stuck here. Thanks to overclockers for the awesome service they provided delivering the parts ;)

Hi sorry do not know what your problem is, I have similar hardware to you I did replace the onboard sound on my Abit not because of probs just had the xfi card and did not want to waste it.
I use teamspeak and have never noticed a drop in framerate although I mainly use MS Flight sim and Flight sim X.
I see your useing MCE of windows and I`m on Vista, I`m sure someone will be able to help.
