Gahhh dvd drive doesnt read anymore

Just packed up my 360 to be sent off for repair as my dvd drive wont read discs...it just spins then makes a crunching noise then stops...its been doing it for the past 2 weeks, just never got round to filling out the online repair request form. Gonna cost me £80 ouch but has to be done as it takes usually 20-30 times of opening and closing the drive to make the drive read the disc.

I dont get any error messages or dirty disc errors so didnt know what to put down on the repair form...just put down faulty dvd drive i suppose.

Anyone know how long it takes for them to get it back to me??...i have UPS i think collecting tommorrow, which i had to do online as well.

You can buy Lasers for £10 at the most, and they are very simple and quick to replace. Seriously, if you haven't sent it yet don't. Even if you don't fancy doing it yourself you can get somebody to do it MUCH cheaper *cough* email in trust *cough*

£80 sod that. i fit new drives for £45 :/ plus u can pick up an arcade machine for £99/110 with 12 months warranty.
