I've just got all my parts to build my new Conroe system, but am having problems with my Gainward 7900GTX 512MB.

In both 3DMark03 and 06 I get graphical corruption, and then when either of them finish Windows itself is graphically messed up. It seems to fail to redraw any of the screen correctly, and the signal to the screen keeps going black then coming back.

I've read other threads about this saying that if they Deep Freeze test fails then you have a faulty card, but I can get through it without it failing. It is however the worst of any test, with major corruption and even the snowy floor disappearing completely.

Is this a case of me needing to send the card back to OcUK for a replacement?

Sounds like the memorys shot on the card if your getting graphical corruption in windows as well, RMA time. :(

*chalks yet another one up for a borked 7900. :(

Did you get the card recently, as i was under the impression they fixed the problems with the 7900s?

Ive just aquired a BFG 7900GTX, which is fine, but im assured its one of the fixed models with infineon RAM

They aint, theres another Gainward around here borked, cant remember if that was a GT though, don't think the Ram is the prob now though, i heard even with Infineon its same as, so they think its the voltage regulators now, tbh they aint got a clue, what a mess. :(

Yeah i heard it was the voltage regulators, i thought that was the 7900GTs though.

At least my BFG has a lifetime warranty should i need it, as im tempted to sell it and get a pair of 7600GTs while they on special offer again ;)

Have you tried some other drivers just to rule those out.
Yeah, I've tried the latest official ones and the latest BETAs - both exactly the same problem.

I witnessed the same thing on a friend's card (exactly the same model) so I'm fairly sure it's the card at fault.

Definately sounds like the memory on the card is gone then. :(

Just as a note, I have the gainward 7900GT 512mb and the 84.21 and 91.31 gives me a weird corruption on Knights of old republic and other games, but not all, but installing the 91.33 all problems were gone.
If you look on the device id,the older drivers had only 0290(GTX) and 291 (GT), and now has couple more 0293 (7900/7950),0294 (7950 GX2).
Also for me rivatuner shows a 0293 device id.

Im thinking of buying a 7900GTX since i heard that they supposedly fixed the problems.
Meatloaf when did you purchase your BFG 7900GTX because thats the card im thinking of purchasing as well ......

I got it from another member on MM. He got it direct from BFG as an RMA replacement. BFG told him it was one of the revised ones.

Thanks for the responce Meatloaf... Can anyone here on OverclockersUK confirm that the BFG 7900GTXs being sold is the revised ones.
