Hi

I have the Gainward GTX580 "Phantom" 3072MB card on an Asus Maximus IV Extreme Intel P67 (Socket 1155) mobo.

I have install windows 7 64bit and also all the updates including the Nvidia Driver v.275.33 from windows updates.

When i go to install one of the latest drivers like 280.26 or 285.38, when i restart windows i get a blue screen and says something about nvidia drivers.

I have also tried #DMark Vantage with the 275.33 drivers and all worked fine with no problems.

Any thoughts?

Try uninstalling the current drivers first, then run Driver Sweeper to get rid of it completely. After that try installing 280.26.

the strange thing is that windows found and notified me that there are newer drivers, the 280.26 and when i install them , i get the blue screen again

Hi again,

I just installed Windows 7 32 bit...and installed the 280,26 Nvidia Driver from the Nvidia site. Everything works fine. No blue screen.

Is it the windows then? Maybe tha latest Nvidia drivers are causing issues with Windows 7 64bit?

280.26 are rubbish, a few games and benchmarks doesn't work on them, I had to back to 275.33 and now everything is ok.
Stay with 275 mate and wait for new driver from nvidia.
