Galaxy A series, S10 lite or Stick to regular S series

In my never ending quest to find a Suitable upgrade from my S9 I’m also looking at these devices. Finding it really hard to justify the cost of the S20 series. Looking at the S10 series, the A series phones and even the S10 lite.
Last A series I had was the A7 back in 2015, which got killed in heavy rain that seeped into my jacket pocket during the Boxing Day floods in Lancashire so I’ve always looked for ip rated phones.
Now obviously I try to avoid taking my phone out when it’s raining, however riding a motorbike to commute, mountain biking and living in one of the areas of the uk where it rains more than it’s sunny, would a A series or S10 lite survive?

Why are you looking to upgrade and what features would like in a new phone?

Main thing is I took a few pictures in Greece where I really missed not having a Ultrawide (Narrow streets of Lindos and Rhodes old town) and had to use my other half’s Huawei P30 pro and send them to myself.
Battery life that’s better than my S9, 4 hours browsing sot on WiFi and half that on 4g. Preferably Samsung but open to other options but I’m stuck to EE.
Id take a good mid ranger but I don’t want to kill it if it gets damp on my motorbike or out on mountain bike in my jacket for example.

A series and s10 lite isn't water resistant. If there's a chance of getting the phone wet...stick with the vanilla S series phones

Could always try a phone from a different manufacturer? OnePlus, Xiaomi or somebody else.

I’m limited to what EE is offering. Every other network where I live gets poor signal where I live.

Not available on EE. For same price I'm paying now £55 per month 100gb data my options are A71, S10 lite, Regular S10 or Iphone 11.
S20 is £60 per month and £70 upfront.

Don't order through EE directly, their prices are insane.

Quick look on uswitch and you can get S20 for £44 monthly with no upfront from Affordable mobiles with same 100GB on EE.

Alternatively if don't mind longer SIM only contract, EE are doing 100GB SIM only for £23 on 24 month contract, that frees up a fair chunk of money to buy whatever phone you want.
