I guess I'll start off the thread by mentioning that we all have our faults and mine is generally impulse buying anything that sounds interesting, without really doing the research first. This is completely how I'm feeling regarding the purchase of the Galaxy Camera.
I bought the Galaxy Camera because I've been after a camera that's not a bulky DSLR, it looks pretty cool in white especially with the edge to edge screen taking up the whole back of the unit and it runs Android. I've had the device for about three weeks and I'm not that impressed with it.
The Android sharing features are pretty cool but they have downsides, such as images being horribly compressed when uploaded and some of post processing options don't really work that well either. For £400, there's definitely better cameras out there and I think Samsung is over reliant on the Android/Smart features to justify the price tag.
I'm thinking of selling the Galaxy Camera and getting the NX1000 as Samsung have a cash back and free tablet deal running at the moment which applied to the NX1000; hopefully the NX1000 fits the bill better for a compact camera that still produces good image quality.
To give you an idea of the quality I've had from the device, see the below images. Everything up until the cake I'm generally pleased with but these were using a tripod, with a good enough light source and the only issues are some over exposure on my part. (Click for larger images)
The Verge review, which was published since I bought the device seems to agree with my views but I'm not sure if I've not given the device enough time? I guess the £400 price tag is what's making me feel unsatisfied...
What are peoples opinions on selling the Galaxy Camera and picking up the Samsung NX1000 Digital Compact System Camera Twin Kit - White (20-50MM F3.5-5.6 II and 16MM F2.4 Lens, 20MP)?
