I'm not sure if anyone will remember Planetarion but I've recently stumbled onto a great little game called Galaxy Empire which is just like it but for the iPhone/iPad and thought I would share.

The basic idea is to build up resources/ships and go colonize planets/attack other players planets to increase you score and gain more resources while doing so.

The game has pretty decent graphics compared to purely text base of planetarium, so give it a shot!

not really sure where I should have posted this, I think a few will have iPhones/iPads in the pc game section but move if you think necessary mods.

Do you mean Planetarion?

Used to love that game but the best part was the politics and large clan wars. It just wasn't as good when it went P2P and the numbers dropped significantly imo.

Also people living in certain countries had a big advantage due to favourable timezones

well this game is very similar and you get a nice UI. You can also do clan wars in this, it seems like abit of a rip-off but a pretty good one.

I have notice you can buy things to help you progress faster so in a way yes, but for a free game, I think you could do pretty well without.
