Around a year back galaxy released a 260+ that was more or less impossible to get hold of in the UK; so when I saw a single slot 460 announced I kept my eyes peeled. It's just come out in asia and is also available in the US on new egg; although the price is over inflated at $250.
This didn't deter me though and I've snapped one up on eBay for around £160 + £20 postage (there's a couple left on there atm); it is pretty expensive but I'm willing to pay for it as this is the best card I can get for my lowly shuttle. If anyone is interested, I can do a little review on it when it arrives (hopefully later on next week)!

Yeh a review would be good! Loads of pics as well please! It seems very interesting considering its a 460 and a single slot, is it a 768mb or a 1024mb? :)

it arrived earlier today! took a few pics that i'll upload at a later date. first impressions are mixed; I knew this thing was long but it's bordering on ridiculous! Doesn't quite fit in my case properly but got it in in the end. It's bloody loud too; even at 25% fan speed it seems abnormally loud to me. On the plus side it was cool at idle considering it was in a tiny shuttle case and at 25% (around 49 degrees). Nonetheless it's too loud for me at the mo and I've got two deadlines coming up so I'm not going to have it in or try and sort it til they're done. I'll upload the pics tomorrow

hows the card doing
thinking of ordering one
hey
overall i was a bit disappointed with it. my main concerns were the size (literally JUST squeezed in to my shuttle! worried about air flow) and the noise (hard to tell as I've been using onboard for so long but to me it seemed a bit loud!). The plus' were primarily the performance (which in the short time I had it in my pc was top notch) and the cooling (the idle temps were actually even lower than I first said! around 41 degrees). I've decided to flog this off on ebay (if you're interested in having it let me know in the next 24 hours as i'll be putting it on tomorrow evening!) and get a passive cooled graphics card- most likely a 5670.

But yeah I'd say if you have the space (and bloody measure up because I didn't!) then go for it. The fan is fine when <30-40% but above that i found it simply too loud for my liking; although my shuttle is on my desk!

Here's a few snaps:

also let this be a lesson learned: the camera on the samsung wave is pants!

You can use programs to create custom fan profiles or even modify the bios.

Looking at the review it has been tuned for temps rather than noise.

mm I was using a few tools (riva tuner? and an evga tool of some sort) but I'm relatively inexperienced with this kind of stuff (overclocking terrifies me so had never looked at rivatuner before!!!). But yeah would agree with the card being designed more for low temps. Really good performance there; but still, it's so big that I'm worried a bit about the air flow in my case- and I can't close the little flap over the pci slots. A small matter I know but ARGH! :D

To the other guy whose name i can't remember and haven't quoted- I've e-mailed ye! :) Oh and your works cool! I'm an illustrator too (student.) so had a glance over 'em and was impressed :) Not that it matters but heyho small world!
