Since flashing to CyanogenMOD 6.1 I absolutely HATE the camera!

While it was never THAT good, it was plenty good enough for taking pics of the kids etc, but now the viewfinder is constantly black'n'white, and the pictures it does take although in colour are very blocky, like it's in 256 colours or something

Can anyone suggest a way I can revert back to the Android 2.1 camera control software as this has really ****ed me off tbh :(

Thanks in advance.

Sounds dire, don't think camera software would fix it probably a driver issue, I would suggest posting this topic on Samdroid or flashing a different Rom

That's because your on 6.1

That is a really old CM version, like literally months iirc, the latest one is 7.5 and there will be a new one out very soon (7.6) with quite a few more fixes and updates.

Also always read the first post of the CM (latest version) as it will have some patches to fix some of the bugs i.e. when the camera only previewed the photos in black and white, there was a patch using the MUIU ROM camera, which fixed that issue.

Also just an update for any other spica users, I have a good feeling that we will soon be getting to the beta version of 2.2 CM and therefore the spica will be officially supported by the cyanogen mod team (I think) :D due to vflashbird enabling most of the hardware codecs, he is now trying to get the HQ for youtube to work and once that is working, then it should be the beta :D

Ok... updated from CM-6.1.0-Spica-alpha6.2 straight up to CM-6.1.0-RC1-Spica-alpha7.5 last night and loved the differences - only issue is that my Market app won't load - it just goes to a white screen as it does when it's about to start then just kicks me back to the homescreen :(

I then reverted down to a7.4, a7.3, then a7.1 and still the same :( then just to test I put a6.2 on again and the market came back to life... Now there has to be a fix for this somewhere as I NEED my market!! LOL

Loved the livewallpapers and the a2sd funtionality of 7.x so don't want to be missing out on that any more :(

After every ROM install, I wiped cache and dalvik-cache from recovery... didn't wipe data as I didn't want the stress of reinstalling all the apps - if this will fix, then I will do it obviously, but I wanted someone elses oppinion before factory resetting my phone once again

Incidentally, on the page for the ROM it says "3. Just for sure: uninstall any Google Apps update" - what does that mean? I don't know what it is so obviously I'm not doing it...

Help? lol this is making my brain ache

Never mind... fixed :) lol

Got a 'hardware codec patch' that's meant to sort out the camera... but at risk of it not working properly again, i'll stick with a b/w viewfinder :) lol - at least the pictures are much better quality now on CM6.1.0-a7.5
