Weird issue with the led. Got my phone replaced today as the led stopped working. Got it all setup with no issues with the led but it has stopped working again after charging. Surely can't be a second led failing and more like software. But for the life of me can't suss i. Has anyone experience same issues. I'm wondering if it is the update that's installed part way through setting up.

Thanks. I'm thinking it's a software issue as the led was definatly working when I turned it on as did several tests with texts and emails. The phone then did a software update partway through restoring the phone to previous setup and then stopped working

That's extremely unfortunate if true as it seems you had the same issue with the previous device?
I can't understand it. Seems odd that two devices don't work. Shame it's the first Samsung I've had and it's spoiling what is otherwise a brilliant phone

If it helps, or rather to add to the confusion - I've tried the "Led tester" apps and they don't work, my LED works though...
Thanks it worked on my lg g4 this morning before i traded it in. I can only presume hardware but too have two in a row seems really unlikely

Yes it's strange - does it not worth at all or just not for notifications? Can you see it when you plag in to charger? Try official samsung one?

I'll double check shortly. Would the software update be removed on a factory reset? As I don't recall seeing it update this time when I did a reset. If it doesn't it's possible the update is the issue.

Thought it was just worth checking as it was his first samsung :D

No offence intended, OP :) ha
No taken I appreciate all the help. I consider myself relatively tech savvy but can't suss this and seems weird. The led is only a minor issue but is putting me off the phone a little as I do quite like the led notifications and use them

From what I can remember I don't think a factory reset will revert software updates

What software are you running out of interest? Can check it against a working model maybe here

Thanks. In that case I'm back to thinking it's a software issue then linked to the update.

Software is g950fxxu1aqdg/g950foxm1aqdg/g950fxxu1aqdg
