Galaxy S9 to Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro?

So as the title hopefully indicates, I'm currently using a Galaxy S9 which is fine but the screen has a crack.

I have an upgrade option (o2) to a Pixel 6 (£31 pm) or Pixel 6 Pro (£38) - is the extra £180 (over 3 years) worth it?

I'm fine with the standard Android stuff, but would like better photos as we're planning to travel more now.

Thanks :)

Really it depends if you want optical zoom or not.
Battery life is better on the standard 6 and it has a flat screen.

Using the above comparison tool, to my eyes at least, the S9 photo quality looks... better?
The issue is with that review it's using the phone before it launched, there's been a few updates that has improved the camera quality a fair bit now. Even then, in that review personally I can see more detail in the 6's photos compared to the S9, and the S9's photos looks more saturated while the 6 is more natural. All depends on personal preferences.

Another thing to consider is how much storage you need. 6 only comes in 128gb so if you need more (256gb) then the 6 Pro is the only choice.

I went from an S9+ to a Pixel 6 in November (or thereabouts), and only moved as I wanted better photos of my Daughter growing up, as the S9+ was perfectly fine for me; though the battery was clearly starting to suffer a tad, and I would need to charge it back up most nights after a day’s use.

What struck me - the screen on the S9+ just looks more vibrant than the Pixel, brighter too. The 'form factor' was also a bit of a shock - the S9+ felt very slick, nice and thin, and easy to handle - whereas the Pixel 6 is a block, and the camera hump is daft. The fingerprint reader on the Pixel is also pretty useless, I never had a single issue on the S9+.

At times I regret the upgrade - but I got my Pixel for a steal, so just remind myself of this fact.

That's really useful info there, thanks @Scort :)
I also have an option to upgrade to the S22/S22 plus.... worth checking?
A friend has the S22 and it looks like a decent bit of kit, and the photos are pretty good too. I'd have considered one myself, but I love the stock android of the Pixel - I can't be doing with all the **** that Samsung preload the phone with - I used to turn off as much as I could via adb on my S9+, but I don't think you should have to do that with a new phone. Oh, and the price of the new Samsung kit is also pretty eye watering!

Don't get me wrong, the Pixel isn't a complete loss, I guess I got pretty attached to my S9+ as I had it for a good 3.5 years with no problems - and my first Pixel 6 failed and had to go back to Vodafone, so it kind of tainted the experience for me, that and the constant problems with the fingerprint reader - I might just junk it and use a pin.

Enjoying my new pixel 6 pro so far, not come across any major issues.

I was worried about the fingerprint reader having read so many bad opinions, but it works perfectly on mine.

The camera bar is slightly annoying though. It sticks out a bit too much and hinders me sliding it into a pouch.

The Samsung S9 is the best thing since sliced bread.

Get a case. I got the official one for my normal pixel 6.

Had my official case in my pixel 6 since launch and I've just took the case off to look, few miniscule bits of debris but I wiped it down and it's still mint condition. Some phones and cases might be more susceptible to it though I guess.
