hi all. i need some assistance with my dads kindle app. we got him a new tablet (galaxy a9+) for xmas to replace his old one that died (battery no longer charging) so i installed the kindle app but there is an issue i cant figure out. when you select a book you have read you get a list of books by the same author, if you select one of those it sends you to the kindle books for sale Amazon.es (amazon spain) instead of Amazon.uk where my dad had bought all his e-books from. so it doesnt know whether he already has bought that book or not. i cant find any settings or option for his kindle account to select Amazon.uk instead of Amazon.es. hopefully somebody here knows how to make those changes.

thank you for this reply. as far as i can tell the kindle app was originally set up in uk with Amazon.uk, and i assume the old tablet was also set as a uk tablet. now it does seem like i have set the kindle app up with Aazon.es and maybe the new tablet is set as a Spanish tablet. this is not my tablet, it is mt dads. he is 83. he does not want to change the kindle account from Amazon.co.uk to Amazon.es, so i am hoping to change the country setting on the tablet itself to UK. sorry if this is a bit confusing but i am totally confused at the moment. any help appreciated. just a note * the instructions for changing the location says to go to settings/location then ''use location'' but there is no ''use location'' option, so i am stuck.

i followed the guide to change the device location on Amazon. it worked for a while but now it is worse than before. i changed it to Amazon.es and it seemed fine. selecting a book in the kindle app took me to Amazon.es and the e-books were available and it even showed if we already owned the book. but later it stopped going to Amazon.es but instead went to Amazon.com but not signed in, and kidle books are not available. if i sign in to Amazon.es and look at kindle books it again says they are not available in this country and asks if we have recently moved country. i have tried resetting it back to Amazon.co.uk but that didn' work either

How did you fix it?
i persisted with the regional settings. i realised after some time that the setting do not take effect immediately, so i left the tablet switched off for a while then checked it again and all was well. unfortunately today the kindle app is once again connecting to Amazon.com. using the google chrome icon to open the browser does takes us to Amazon.es and the kindle app is set to Spain region, so we can browse/buy/read the e-books perfectly that way. i am totally baffled now :(

what i need to be able to do is remove Amazon.com from the options, so that my kindle app can only go to Amazon.es. i think i need some direct help/support from Amazon because this seems to be an issue with the App not working properly rather than my settings which i now know are correct.

the saga continues. i contacted Amazon helpline. they have a call-back service which is actually very efficient. the assistant checked all aspects of the kindle account and said it is set up correctly and working properly at the Amazon end. The only thing we coukd do was to uninstall/re-install the kindle App. did that and it corrected the proble,. Afew hours later the problem returned. i tried it several times and it started to randomly connect to Amazon.com or Amazon.es without me changing any settings. so i am now lost for an explanation. the only thing i can imagine might be causing it is a poor/slow internet connection, (which we know is an intermittent problem here) and maybe the Kindle App wants to connect the the regional Amazon site (Amazon.es) but is instead diverted to Amazon.com as a kind of default or something like that. i have no idea how to prove it and i am running out of time as i will be returning to UK next week, so my Dad will be left with the problem and there is no way he can sort it out. He is 83 and can barely manage simple actions such as logging in to his tablet etc. :(
