Game Booster - Anyone used it?

Sorry, all the replies are wrong here.
I recommended it in the other forum, and I use it all the time while gaming and video encoding.
It doesn't force programs to use less power, it physicaly shuts down processes not needed to run windows (like themes), it just frees up ram for other stuff, doesn't get you banned on any games/punkbuster etc and windows has never gave a BSOD because of it. On top of that you can customize exactly what processes it wants to shut down.
nearly 3 years I have used it and nothing bad has ever came out of it.
Try not to take advice from folk who are scared to try some thing new or haven't read up on what it actualy does. ;)
It is absolutley no different to shutting process down yourself via task manager. Plus you get a decent defrag tool if you choose to use it.

Have you ever considered that your experience is not definitive of everybody else's?

I try not to take advice from people who are blinkered to opinion and ignorant of the possibility that other people may percieve or experience things in a different way.

Anyway, why bother installing software that uses the task manager for you? Just do it yourself.

it shuts down other things you wont though like unneeded windows services, you would be amazed by the ammount of crap windows has running that you dont need.

remote registry services , printspooler etc

Well to check your entire list of processes and then end all the ones you're not going to need will take a fair amount of time. This does it at the click of a button whenever you want to load up a game.

It's a good program If you're running games your pc struggles with. It doesn't cause bsod unless you've got a dodgy windows install or something.

Well I just downloaded it and tried it, told me I had cleared up 178MB of ram when in actual fact in task manager it was only 12MB, which was from closing Aero.

So I won't be using it because it lies :p
