Game constantly freezes while playing

Hello,

So over the last few days i have been attempting to diagnose a problem with a friend of mine's PC. Here is the problem from his own words:

"I'm currently using windows 7, i have a problem were as I am playing/running games i get a short game freezes were my FPS goes down to 0. This occurs every 30-60 seconds - this problem does not happen when not playing and happens for all games."


So firstly what i did to try and fix his problem was to reinstall his video drivers to the latest Nvidia GeForce drivers that situated his GTX 650.. What other steps should i try ?

can you download some monitoring software and let me know the results? want to make sure that it isnt overheating. try GPU-Z CPU-Z HWmonitor or AMD overdrive and speed fan. also i have read somewhere before that norton can cause fps drop ( no idea why or how true that is) try a different anti virus software
