guys

its been only 2 months since i installed in 2 brand new strix 980ti's

Now randomly every time i play my games it crashes out with no error, just simply returns to desktop with no messages, the witcher 3

So i uninstalled the graphics drivers, with driver remover, and reinstalled fresh drivers.

I removed one card and the same happens, switched over to the 2nd card same issue.

theres no way i have 2 faulty graphic cards and it works perfect until gaming, so im puzzled as usually you have error messages.

I have not done anything new, the only thing i did was install a new sound card the ZXR, but that works fine, So i switched over the pcie lanes again no avail, i mean sometimes i can play up to 40 mins but eventually it just returns to the desk top.

So im just about to re-install windows 10 but is there anything else i can do to find a cause?

Well, you have done something new then :) Are the crashes since installing the soundcard?

I'd be looking at this, the new soundcard, given you've tried each 980Ti on its own, so it's unlikely to be PSU related (what are you using though there?)

Do you have onboard sound on your mobo? First thing I'd do would be remove your new soundcard and drivers and test to death with onboard sound...

I've got a feeling it's r have e sound card but I havnt tested it minus the new zxr, I'm gonna test it on my Kingpins going to see what happens but one thing is that it's only the witcher 3, all other games seems fine, I have onboard sound so will test without the sound card

By the way I havnt disabled the onboard sound is that something I need to do? I can't see a disable sound switch on the bios settings rampage 5 x99

PSU is dope it's 1600 watts , I will go home for some trouble shooting

Do a mem check it could be your memory! ;)

Yes disable the on board sound as this can conflict with your soundcard.

Depending on how the game is programmed to deal with sound, a lot of developers use different audio compression and programming techniques.
