I need a bit of help as this has me stumped ! I have a crossfire setup 2 x 5850's and since converting to water cooled a few weeks ago haven't played any games so I loaded up Crysis 2 but the screen is flickering all the time then I tried Hydrophobia Prophecy and Section 8 Prejudice they both have this problem, So I checked refresh rate which is default 60 hertz then I dropped the game resolution down to 1024 x 768 it was still flickering but not as much.
Been told to disconnect one card but if I do that it seems pointless to have a crossfire setup I have played around with other settings to but to no avail.
Thoughts on this please you lovely people :D

but you will know for certain if it's a Crossfire issue or not, multi GPU is still far from perfect compared to single GPU setups.

Have you tried the latest Catalyst Application Profiles?

Known issue with Crysis 2 and CF setups. It's not you - it's the software.
New profiles in 11.5 fixed it on mine.

I had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks back with my two 5770's. Could not figure out what the problem was.

In the end I swapped the slots the card ares in and I've not had any problems since.

And now my 6870s have started doing it in everything, grrr was perfect for months and cant work out whats changed both cards work individually fine.

installed 11.5 drivers and profiles i'll see if that makes a difference also going to flash the bioses to the top version if i can find it on the net :D

I find when it happens especially after updating drivers. I go into CCC and press the default button in gaming tab apply that then reset all my settings it clears the problem.

The 11.5 drivers also cured the the flickering problem i had in crossfire on a pair Sapphire 5850,s but now im locked out of playing the game since ive installed it 5 times.
Rang Tech support for more unlocks and they said that my unlock code is not even registered on there system Bah!!!! will have to chase them up on this matter.

There will be no such thing as perfect.

3D,Eyefeinty, NV Surround,7.1 sound,Multi GPU, Multi core CPU...ect nearly always has to have consideration at the programming stage to be most effective, sometimes drivers can get around it & sometimes it can not, the program code itself will need fixing.

Crysis 2 is a joke considering that these flickering issues were not in the other 2 games beforehand.

There are plenty of issues even with single GPUs so naturally multi will have issues also.

They were an issue in other games for me in every game that i've tried.

Other than Crysis 2 i would not no where to start as i don't have those issue.

Its simply that infinite components & configuration will always lead to some having more issues than others.

Of course single GPU compatibility is not perfect by any means but my point was it's a damn site closer to being than multi GPU support is.

But that goes without saying so it does not need to be said.

Console compatibility is a damn site closer to being perfect than PC but we don't bring that up every time someone has issues on the PC.
