I know we have quite a few parents on here so looking for some recommendations.

Trying to find a game for my nephew who is just turning six but not sure what would be suitable. It's a low spec AMD E1 (I think) all in one pc so won't play anything too taxing but my brother has asked me to buy them something to use on it.

Looking on Amazon brings up loads of educational games but they all seem to be really dated (Win XP as specs, made over 10 years ago etc).

Any suggestions? (No to Alien Isolation, that's too scary for me let alone them :o )

It may be able to run minecraft
My boy started on minecraft at 6 and is now so versed in it i have no idea what he is doing...

apparently this site http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri can tell you if its playable on that laptop...not sure of the site credentials
Otherwise if he/she has a tablet toca games are half decent.

Ha, I never really got Minecraft but seems to be the kids game of choice and I think they may already have got him it.

He's a creative little guy, likes storytelling and making things. I remember one of the first things I used on a PC was a Disney colouring in software package, had loads of fun with that but those sort of things seem to be on tablets now.

I guess what he wants is something that will teach him how to use the PC and encourage him to do more.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll have a look through. The pc is very basic but they have an Xbox (kids don't use it yet) so thats always an option.

Perhaps game was the wrong word, I just remember how you used to see childrens software everywhere (Disney used to chuck the stuff out with every film) but it all seems to have stopped now.

I know they were pretty naff but they were fun for kids and it taught them how to use the PC. Guess tablets and apps have put an end to all that.
