Game freezes and now black lines :(

Hi all,

I overclocked my Ati Radeon 9870 1gb Gigabyte OC edition with the 3 fans a little while ago but noticed for a couple of days when playing WoW the game would just lock up but by pressing escape its then fine, also on a couple of occassions frame rates went really low to 11fps but on these occassions i restarted and all was then fine.

However today the above happened and then I got black lines going right across my screen but still being able to see my game so i rebooted and all was then fine.

So now I have decreased the clock speeds on my card and seeing how it goes, is this signs of my card being faulty or on its way to becoming fully faulty??

Probably an unstable overclock.

Run it at default speeds for a while and see how things go

So my card isn't faulty then? Phew relief. However I had it overclocked for like a month and only issues in the last few days.

A program to stress test my card might be handy but tried using a link given on here a while ago didn't work.

msi afterburner has one build in doesnt it?
