Game Freezes!

Hello, I installed borderlands today (Amazing game) and was working fine, but then problems started. When ingame, the picture on the screen would just freeze but then game music would still play. Then ati vpu recovers says some **** about graphic drivers reset then i would go back ingame then it would be fine for a while then would do it again.

All my drivers are up 2 date, currently running cat 9.10 with the ati 4890. Drivers are the most recent on ati's website. I've tried uninstalling the drivers then putting them back on again but no luck. Any idears would be helpful

Was thinking mabey uninstalling gpu drivers and going to 9.9 mabey?

This happens to me too with my 4870. It's a result of high temps with one and the driver crashes - named something like 'atikmdag'. It's resolved by going into CCC and turning up the fan to around 30%.

Hmmmm. My temps dont go over 70c and my fan speed at 70%.

i hada 4870x2 which had the fan set at 50 and the load temps were 59

Wow, mine idles at 58*c with 25% fan. It reaches 70*c only under stress when playing games at 30%. Thats very high. And don't you find 70% a little noisy? I find anything above 40% unnacceptable!

Yeah thanks for the input. I found it quite wired why 70c @70% lol. And yeah but it doesn't bother me as i use headphones but when I leave pc on, turn it down to auto.
