GAME in financial trouble

GAME Are stupid

This is the problems with there demise

1. To Many stores close together -
In Lakeside (Shopping center) 4 Stores! Blue water - 2! these shopping center are very close to...
2. Most of the time they are overstaffed in some stores and understaffed in other stores.
3. PC Gaming Section is Dire
4. There prices for buying games off you are dire.
5. I hear from a game employee they only earn decent profit on pre-owned.

You cannot run a business like this....

Actually you can :p but you can't run a successful one like it ;)

Eep, I've got £60 of vouchers and a bunch of points and Nothing I want (popped in over the weekend to no avail) :S

I guess I'd be better just to spend it on 'something' if it's likely to shut before they have anything I actually want to buy :P Perhaps one of their rediculously overpriced XBox controllers to use with my PC :P
(thing is I always got what I call 'controller based' games for my PS3 so I can relax on my sofa with the big TV haha!)

I used to shop there often - but with lack of PC games, and their exchange policies changing in store so that they're unwilling to take back games if you don't like it means I won't simnply have impulse buys anymore as I know I can't just take it back.

Before this, I would often buy games, and sure a few I'd take back but most I'd keep. Taking it back of course was for console only :p

With most people treating it as a free rental service do you blame them?
Show me any online retailer that will take back a game if you just dont like it?

Thei pricing is fantasy at best and their second hand games being £3-5 cheaper than brand new they deserve to be in financial trouble imho.

Bring back EB

Meh, couldn't care less really. Too many stores, no PC games and slow to the digital distribution market was never a good business plan. Sorry for the staff though.

When I walk past a Game shop, I think to myself "If I go in there one of the drones is going to jump on me straight away and ask if I need help."

And I'll go somewhere else instead.

If the idiot manager who enforces this behaviour is by some slim chance reading this, please learn from it ;)

So you went to an event held to promote Halo, and you're complaining they tried to sell you Halo stuff at it?

Reading that back it did sound dumb but what I failed to mention was that regardless of repeatedly saying no to buying all the useless stuff they felt the need to harass customers.

Bring back EB

Speaking of EB, when GAME took them over, it meant that instead of closing 1 down at Meadowhall, they kept both open. That means there are 2 GAME stores within 100m of each other.

Exactly what happened the last time I was in GAME Sleepery :p We went in because a mate wanted to show us the Assassins Creed trailer cos it was awesome (whatever the new one is called) and within 20 seconds had to get rid of a shop assistant.

Yes, I hate this. My girlfriend works in retail and is constantly pressured to go up to customers asking if they need assistance or telling them about offers, she hates this and tries to avoid doing it as often as possible.
