Game Mods and Multiplayer?

ok, so since getting my new bits and doing numerous windows installs. im happy everything is good so started installing my games.
before i had HD and AI mod packs on fifa 11 and F1 2010 as i felt these really improved the overall gameplay. the thing is, i now want to maybe do some more online multiplayer gaming. so my question is, can i still do this with the mods?

Looking for mods for F12010/Fifa11 which have multiplayer support?
or
Looking for other games that have mods that also have multiplayer support?

im asking, if i install the AI mods in F1 2010 and fifa 11, which makes the single player a lot better, will i still be able to play the multiplayer version of the game, as the mods alter the game files, surely it wouldnt be consistant with the other players files. so my players would play more realistically than theirs, or are the files different for single and multiplayer modes?
