Does anyone on here a Roccat Kone XTD or similar, They any good? worth the price?

http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Mice/ROCCAT-Kone-XTD/

Was thinking of a new mouse as my tired logitech mx5000(keyboard and mouse combo) has packed up.:o

Don't laugh, its been a good(for me) mouse.

Never really looked at gaming mice before, but they do seem to handle the abuse better than the cheapish ones it appears.

Using a bog standard micsoft 3 button job at the moment now. Not the most accurate mouse out there( That's my excuse and am sticking to it  )

Cheers,

Pete.

I have the XTD and have been a Roccat fan for a while

There used to be a problem with the scroll wheel but they have sorted that. Their software allows you to change the function of every button on the mouse and the features are excellent. It is a large-ish mouse and you can change the weight using the provided 1.5g weights.

I say worth the money.

Good luck

What's the model number of the MS mouse you have?

All it says underneath is " Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1A USB/PS2"

same as this on a site I found.

I would NOT recommend Roccat mouse or mouse pad.
My mouse developed double click and sticky button.
Layer on mouse pad started to split from base... in the middle, not to mention got all curvy and deformed. Mouse had 2 years warranty so contacted OC, which redirected me to Roccat, who after over a week replied to my email saying seller should take care of warranty. OC denied that, after ping pong emails OC said they will take mouse to repair/replacement, but at that point it was already in the bin. So thumb up for OC for taking responsibility for their sale, but definitely Roccat is not worth the money.

I own a Roccat Kone and it is a very good mouse. But unfortunately as mstrozny said the mouse does suffer from horrible double clicking problems which seem to come and go therefore is frustrating as the mouse would be great if this problem did not exist.

I've had the Kone XTD for a few months now, replaced my G400.

I find it very comfortable to use, never had any issues with double clicking.

Plenty of customisation through the control panel, although I have most of it turned off since I only use 1 DPI setting and the standard tracking is fine.

Love the ability to change the LED colour to match my setup.

Thanks for that guys, seen some issues with there kone but all have said that the XTD has fixed/improved.

Think my mind is pretty much made up.;)

Just waiting on the release price of the 290x tbh :o

I had the first Roccat Kone and now I have a Roccat Kone XTD.

Had several mice between them and went back to the roccat kone

something about he shape feels really good but it is a big mouse i like the software and i guess because i have used the software before it just feels natural to use
takes about a min or so to make a new macro the software is one of the best parts of the mouse

my first roccat only failed because the weight system under mouse failed and every time i lifted the mouse off the desk the weights would come out and turn the mouse off, In the end i glued the compartment shut
since then i got the Roccat Kone xtd
the new mouse had a different compartment fixing so i think it will last longer

the mouse wheel was never a problem for me before and the new mouse wheel looks better and tougher

the only problem ive found with a roccat mouse is once you had one for a while its really difficult changing from a roccat mouse to any other mouse as ive found them all to be really small and flat
and ive tried a logitech g700,g600, steel series sensi everything felt small compared to the roccat

but overall the roccat kone is a good mouse and appears to have fixed all the problems that previous roccats had

Couldn't agree more consider all previous kones to be a beta project. They have got it spot on with the kone xtd :D

Used a Roccat Kone+ for a few years now. The only issue I've had with it was the mouse wheel started to randomly scroll forward/back one click even though you'd gone the other way. I fixed it easy enough though, just a build up of dust inside the mouse. Had to dismantle it using a video from youtube as a guide and clean it carefully. Been fine for last 6 months. :)

Good mouse, would recommend.

Just an update, Now the owner of a Kone XTD :D

Mrs got me it for my 40th :o I know, too old to be a gamer..... NOT

First impressions:

I have to say, the difference is immediately noticeable, That's before putting the driver/software in and customising it . The feel is go much nicer.

Software:

What can i say, erm....

Anyone have a BF4 profile they'd like to share? :)

Thought i'd see what the *nix driver/config was like as I knew they did(or should ~I say support the dev that's developed it) a oss driver. Thinking that would be bare minimum. Was wrong, Does pretty much everything what the windows software does. Its not as graphically impressive as the Roccat software but the functionality is all there from what I see.

In for a lot of tinkering I think

Any pointers fellow roccat useres?
