Game not running with dual screen setup

I'm really stumped by this but i installed Sim City 4 a fairly old game. Anyway i have two monitors in a dual set up. When i click to run the game both screens flash for a second or two and then my desktop appears again as if the program got minimised. No matter what i've tried to do the game just wouldn't open out.

Anyway i figured i'd disable one screen and try it on a single monitor. This worked perfectly.

Does anyone have any tips how i could run this game without having to disable my second monitor everytime i want to play the game.

I would suggest that the game can't work out the res to output to. I seem to remember this back in the day of originally running dual screen.

I generally find it works better to have the main screen (within the windows display properties) being the one on the right. So if you think of it as a graph the right screen in the positive x values and the left is the negative x values

I always had my screens arranged that way though as I don't like the 2nd screen getting in the way of my mouse.

Ah i may just give that a try, as mine is setup differently. Main screen on the left and secondary on the right.
