Did anyone else pick this up on release? I got round to playing it last week and it's a lot more enjoyable than reviews would suggest. I'd say 8/10 especially if you value story. It's got some amazing scenes and you really grow attached to your characters. Just got the last two chapters to do but I thought I'd let people know its worth a pick up if you like RPG's of a good length. :)

I picked it up on release, but i really dont like the having to queue atack moves and stuff, nor the limited means of exploring - too locked into the story.

3/10 from me.

I thought the fighting was terrible at first but then as you get use to it and get more moves it becomes really addictive and now I couldn't imagine it as a hack and slash. It's in a way very similar to Baldurs Gate or Dragon Age Origins. For a fan of the show I think it's more than worth it and a 100 times better than Lost the game. It's a shame that with just a little more polish I think it would be getting the attention it deserves. As it stands a diamond in the rough.

I was a fan of a lot of the Lord of the Rings games and a lot of those got bad reviews. How does it compare to early lord of the rings games?

I'm surprised to see someone give this 8/10 - every review I read or clips I watched said that the game is poor.

I'm a huge fan of game of thrones so I was hoping for a great game, I haven't played the game but I cant see it being any good!?

lets hope it does was Lord of the rings did and releases a great mmo! game of thrones online would be amazing!!

It's a really good game you can tell the developers have a real love of the source material. The campaign is really long and the story amazing and adds to the show (it's approved by the author). I don't think in any light it can be called a bad game but it's no AAA game either and for me that's a good thing as they are more willing to try new things. If your the type of gamer that can handle rough edges I'd say take the risk! :)

Wow this game is fantastic as far as story/writing/characters are concerned. Easily on par with books and TV show. Combat is lame, graphics is not great, but the narrative...oh man. If anyone overlooked it because of bad reviews and can tolerate low production values, get it. I got it for 10 euros on steam and it is just fantastic.

Just completed all six episodes of season 1 (easy platinum, yay :D ) and really enjoyed it / wanted more by the end. It took a while to get into fully but it's really well acted and written and rather engrossing really. The graphics are a bit poor but i guess that's the aesthetic they went for and you definitely get used to it.
Here's hoping for season 2

I got this on release, and yup, I enjoyed playing through it. I thought the story was pretty well done overall; not amazing, but solid.

My main gripe, as with most TT games, is that the dialogue selections you get offered don't always turn out to be what you think they'll say.
Performance on Xbox One at times was, quite frankly, bad. Major stuttering and pausing, with dialogue from the following scene starting before on-screen visuals had changed. If I were to go back and play again, I'd want to on PC (but as this is in Game Consoles forum, that's another matter).
