I have a PS3 so I use PSN store but I often buy the old PSN classics, sometimes you can find good deals or if I cant be bothered to go to the store I just buy it at home.

They should get rid of Microsoft Points and silly pricing schemes like this.

I'm pretty sure I ended up getting Batman for £30 on release :/

Thing is, the PSN classics are nearly always well priced, in many cases their digital download version is cheaper than the games can be had second hand. (One such example is Final Fantasy VII, loads of people assumed it would be £20ish as that's what it sold for second hand, then surprised us by releasing at £10). I can't say as much for this service sadly.

All i can guess is that it's due to them being more recent games they could be under some pressure to keep prices high so as to not upset the highstreet stores. Or it could be that they're preying on the guys that pay full whack in said highstreet stores as they don't research prices enough.

Hehe, it's actually 7.99, I bought VII, VIII and IX :D.

The only bad thing I find about Sony PSN store thou is that, due to the currency being money, we get taxed on our games and I heard that because Xbox it uses "live points" they don't get taxed (I might be wrong thou, just what I heard).

If that's true then it really sucks for Sony users :(

Nah, you get taxed when you buy the points for live so there's no real difference, you just hand over your tax monies at a different point in the transaction.

Do you not have to pay tax on the card then tax for the game on PSN? Wouldn't surprise me tbh
No - whatever gave you that impression? Its just classed as a normal purchase...

One of the cleverest things they did - using their own currency they can change the 'exchange rate' whenever they like - its like printing money - especially when you cant convert points back into proper currency...

What, exchange rate, if anything it stays the same, points for certain amount of pounds, nothing changes. £17 buys 2100 points and has done for years

If MS decided tomorrow that 2100 points should cost £30 they could or a 1000 point game should be more than the current ~£8 - who would stop them outside of market forces? The cards you get from retailers are bought from MS at the end of the day - there is a virtual exchange rate which can be easily manipulated...

With PSN £7.99 is always going to be £7.99...
