game outputs 120 fps with vysnc on with 60hz tv

had this problem allot lately with crossfire, currently playing the witcher 2, when i play on my monitor at 1680-1050 it vysyncs at 60 fps and all is fine but as soon as i play it on 1080 on my tv over hdmi with vsync on it starts outputing 120 fps instead which results in screen tearing, seen this a few times i think with allen wake as well? anyone got any fixes, google doesnt show up anything yet im sure others must have had this problem!

Failing that, get MSI afterburner and cap your framerates to 59fps.
 
cheers but doesnt stop the tv from vsyncing at 120 fps. its like its outputing 60 fps from each card. without vsync on it can go higher than 120 fps. yeah i can limit the fps in afterburner but that doesnt stop the screen tearing
