Game pads

Depends on the game for control set up really - you mean forwards and backwards with right stick and strafe left and right with the left stick? (or perhaps turn left and right with left stick?) either way what i first said is true - its dependent on the game :)

you're better off just getting used to the normal way of moving, it will make things a lot simpler. you may also be shocked to know theres more than 1 genre of game :D

I think 1st person shooters are likely to offer this sort of control - resident evil 5 offers something similar i seem to remember andprobably halo 3 as well..

I slightly understand what the OP is on about, but as mention before, it really comes down to what game it is and how much it allows for you to edit the control configuration. a lot of games usually just have presets i.e. Type A, B, C with little to no edits allowed each and every button or control stick, so it really depends on the game in question.

I loove using my mouse I have a proper game mouse I use
(Logitech MX 518) but I cant control it, I'm being forced to use game pads, my \Logitech rumble pads 2 swaps the sticks, i want to do that but keeping two movements

yes I want to play HL2 again, episode 1 & 2 episopde 3 is soon to be released, but using my mouse is impossible now (health reasons) I have a Logitech Rumblepad 2 here it swaps the sticks np but it swaps all 4 axis i need to swap 2.

yes spot on, a few games have game pad options, if i can change the game pad first that would be great, is there a pad out there that lets you change every button

That still wont solve your problem of wanting to go forwards and backwards using your right hand. You would still be using the left hand.

what do you think.

Now you have the flexibility to configure the pad for different games, depending on

whether you prefer to use the analog stick or d-pad, or even cater for multiplayer

sessions with friends who prefer different pad configurations.

I'd rather just learn to use a normal pad... That thing looks horrid.

Is this for the PC? Why not use Xpadder (as a lot of people have been mentioning recently) you can edit what each button does. Not sure if it will let you do that set up but its worth a try.
