I used to play a lot of Age of Empires and after that Age of Mythology. Ive not played either for years, and having looked on a few sites struggling to find anything that's been made in the last 10 years. Could someone give me a recommendation of a game like one of those above.

Any help will be appreciated.

Civ 5 is good but it in a different scale and not as much micromanagement.

If you like rts combat then my personal favourite is Dawn of War (Dark Crusade) (not DOW") it sci fi genre though so not exactly AOE.

Cool i'll have a look cheers, not a huge sci fi guy like. I really loved Age of Mythology. I'm suprised they've not made any games of that ilk for such a long time.

Just in case you're not aware, AoE2 was recently updated a little with slightly better graphics and full steam integration if that's something that would interest you.

As Kyo said, Civ 5 though not an RTS is quite good now, particularly with the two expansions.

I'm an Age fan as well, specifically Age II. I went from Warcraft II to Age II as that was naturally the next game up for me, sticking with the medieval theme. I wasn't too keen on the original Age 1 game, but I did like Mythology and Age III. I think the next Age game they did was an online RPG, so kinda went in the same direction as Warcraft did with WoW.

I'm open for RTS suggestions too. I played Civ 4, but didn't really get into it. What are people's views on Command & Conquer and Medieval Total War? I believe they are RTS's.

Edit: thanks guys for the heads up on Steam versions of Age 2 and Age 3 :-)

If you can get past the Sci-fi elements I would recommend Dawn of War, as it has a campaign pretty similar to AOE3 in some regards and involves quite a lot of micromanagement.
