Hello,
Wonder if anyone could help me. I am after a specific type of game and I'm hoping someone could recommend me one that fits the bill. What I'm after is a top down view (think diablo, path of exile), action/adventure/rpg whatever, but with full controller support. I'd love the modern control method of left stick to move, right stick to aim/face direction with preferably pretty simple hack and slash gameplay. Does such a game exist?

Thanks in advance for any help.

a guess would be dungeon siege 3 i used to play it on the xbox

can't remember any others off the top of my head.

Any reason for control support and such specific controls?

Off the top of my head I can think of Marvel Heroes, Torchlight 1 & 2, Van Helsing. Not too sure control wise but they are very good games to play in that sort of category.

ummmm there was a baldurs gate game for the ps2 which is rather like you described if memory serves me. dark alliance was it?

probably not much help but only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

there was a zombie game on the ps3 store too which was like that, small survival/wave type game where its as you described, left stick move, right aim/direction and just spam till everything is dead xD

pc though.... not sure regarding a controller.

Was that Dead Nation?

Was that Dead Nation?

think that may have been it. think I only had the demo, had a few different gun picks ups in like a closed off arena in an airport or something? were circled by car/plane wrecks, had a explosive teddy that would lure zombies and also could do skill kills with helicopter blades or a jet engine the zombies got sucked into... I think xD

good way to kill 20 mins hehe

Thanks for the replies. I will check them all out. The main thing I am after is the control method I described and the viewpoint. I've never really got on with the mouse cursor based movement and attacking in these sort of games and have always thought they could be great with a gamepad.
I've read an article about Diablo 3 console controls not being used on pc due to game differences so I don't think thats an option.

Imo try the suggested games in this thread (think Torchlight 2 is a perfect match) and just get used to keyboard & mouse - might feel alien for a week or so but you should easily grow into it. These games usually involve a lot of inventory shifting/selling/modifying (i.e gems) etc which would be an absolute arse with a controller anyway.

oh, random game you might like is Alien Swarm on steam, it's free ;) similar style of play to the others. but use WASD to move and mouse to aim, dunno if it's possible to use a controller but don't really see why not? only uses limited controls (fire, jump, melee, switch wep, interact, use special) so can't see why you wouldn't use a controller. might even just be able to use something like joypadder (or keypadder? something like that) to remap a controller on the pc to work with it by binding keyboard controls to the controller :D
