I really miss reading GOOD Un-Biased reviews of games, most of the reviews you find on the net are either biased, or quite honestly they don't know what they are on about.

Where do you lot read reviews? Magazines or Net?

And what do you reckon is the best review site and\or magazine?

The last games magazines I bought on a regular basis were Mean Machines and C&VG back in the 16bit days. I can't say I personally think there was much difference back then in comparison to todays online and published counterparts.
If I'm looking to see what a newly released game scored review wise, I use Gamerankings.

Pretty much the same here look at both of those, but use IGN, Gamespot and 1up for a lot of reviews. I never tend to look at the final score until I read the whole review, sometimes you can see a 6/10 and think nah thats not good, but when you read the review the reason its scored low wouldnt bother you or is something your not interested in.

Thanks chaps I will check what you've all mentioned.

I was also thinking of signing up to either IGN or Gamespot, do you think its worth it?

I buy Edge every month, but not just for the reviews and previews. But I tend to know well in advanced if I want a game or not and don't really care too much about a reviews score. Aslong as its an enjoyable game.

IGN subscription is worth it for the exclusive betas but that's about it. Most of the HD movies can usually be found on GameTrailers.com

Read their forums and you will have your answer ;) They are fanboy breeding grounds :p

The only site I really use now is GameFAQ's for help and thats only because its fan submitted content and is usually a lot more helpful and they actually update their guides with new information even years after the game has been out unlike Gamespot or IGN (well the ones I've read anyway). Best of all GameFAQs is FREE :D

For my reviews I just use Metacritic :) (which is the same as game rankings, both of them are owned by CNET)

For my trailers I used to use www.Gametrailers.com but ever since they moved it over to Flash I cant stream the videos anymore, I've tried different browsers, different versions of Flash and its still the same so I cant use them anymore.

If I had money I would review games again :( I miss not writing. Anyone know if any decent community sites are looking for writers?

I use Gamespot as the writers don't tend to be biased.

I still subscribe to Edge and regularly buy Games Tm, I like being able to have a sit and a relaxing read, instead of being in front of a screen more than I already am.
Plus I like the articles in both magazines, usually more than the reviews.

I've been writing a few reviews for http://www.xbox360achievements.org/ they're always on the look out :)

Don't think he's after PC game reviews because of the section it's posted in. Could be wrong however.

Thanks Haly. Just seen the the gamerscore some of the staff have :O

I've almost gone totally net dependant for my reviews.

Nothing against the magazines (I'll buy them if there's a good in-depth article I want to read), I just like being up to date, and it's free :)

I have just subscribed to Playstation Official + Official Xbox magazines. I picked up a copy last week and thought it was very refreshing to be able to sit down and read the pages instead of gawping at a screen.

I found it has the advantage that you read about games you would normally skip over on an Internet site.
