was selling an console game on ebay, and had a few bidders. with a few hrs to go was emailed from a bidder asking me to remove their bid as they had already bought the game elsewhere
being the nice guy i am, i removed the bid and it went down to half the price it was at, with only a few hrs to go (meaning it was unlikely to have had time to get views and go up again)

just wonder if anyone has been kind and removed the bid in good faith, or if it's maybe a bit of a scam. .maybe i should just have left the bid on...?

I'd just relist if you didn't get the price you want (with a false bid) . I always do buy it now/offer though

Go to the item in you listed items, select end item from drop down menu. You should asked if you want to cancel all bids, which you do. Then select a reason for ending the auction. Then relist with buy it now price you're happy with.

ok thanks
i'm just going to leave it on. it's either someone being dishonest or a genuine mistake
i'm leaning more to dishonest, being ebay and all that
don't want to disappoint the person that has bidded so...
if it happens again i may not be as nice :p

it sold for a little less than i expected but it's ok
if i was dealing with a lot more money i'd maybe cancel the listing
i never knew you could if someone had bid though.
seems you can withdraw at any point? and refund if they have paid you?
