Far too many I like to have a favourite. Actually did a couple of compilations of classic soundtrack tunes a few years ago for some friends (20 tracks per compilation). If I won't get a slap for it I'll try and reupload the packs to fileplanet later and stick a DL like in here along with playlists
Several of the tracks mentioned above are actually in the packs.
My personal favourites are some of the Nintendo tracks (Zelda etc) and Nobuo Uematsu. Total Annihilation/Jeremy Soule are also very very good.
Mirrors edge is fairly nice, as well as the ones above.
What i will say is, dont be tempted by that crysis special edition (i got it when it was released as it came with a few extras) the soundtrack consisted of just creepy jungle sounds and the like. Not worth it.
Did you ever hear the Psygnostic Soundtracks CD? Had some music that was, I can only say inspired, from the games, though I think the original music was better.
Oblivion by Jeremy Soule is one of the greatest musical productions I've ever heard.
The way he captures the feeling of being outdoors, the beautiful transitions through his tracks and his ability to every single time i listen to the tracks, make my hair stand on end throughout.
Some of his other compositions are amazing, but nothing at all compares to Oblivion. I think without his music, the game wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful as it was.
Given it's age and the way it worked with the game, I'd say the Total Annihilation one was better, nothing like getting stuck in with some peewees and suddenly a rousing tune would kick in!
