Game soundtracks

All the metal gear solid sound tracks are pretty awesome.

If it's just themes, I like this version of the Monkey Island theme a lot. :)

Or there is of course Cannon Fodder. :p

Most the COD4 tracks are good, especially The Coup, and Shock and Awe.

Tomb Raider Anniversary had some nice tracks including the Croft Manor:

Point of Existence Mods also had some great cinematic tracks:

Edit: And monkey island also brilliant!

Brings back memories, And.. I.. Cant.. Stop.. Humming.. it

Also

And for the lulz
(embedding doesn't seem to be working for this, so
)

But for Specific PC game soundtracks, I loved the music from Fallout 3, especially the songs from the 40's

and

Shadow of the Beast (stunning for 1989).

Shadow of the Beast 2 wasn't half bad either.

Oblivion or Jade Empire for me I think.

Here's the main themes...

by Jeremy Soule

by Jack Wall

Both worked on a lot of soundtracks I also love.

Wipeout 2097

This, and the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, though I'm not sure if they count since most of them just took already known songs.

However, for a game with its own soundtrack, it has to be The World Ends with You.

Tracks of choice include
and

Its a great soundtrack, so many different songs, and I didn't like many of them initially. But they grew on me as I played.

Far too many I like to have a favourite. Actually did a couple of compilations of classic soundtrack tunes a few years ago for some friends (20 tracks per compilation). If I won't get a slap for it I'll try and reupload the packs to fileplanet later and stick a DL like in here along with playlists :)
Several of the tracks mentioned above are actually in the packs.

My personal favourites are some of the Nintendo tracks (Zelda etc) and Nobuo Uematsu. Total Annihilation/Jeremy Soule are also very very good.

Mirrors edge is fairly nice, as well as the ones above.

What i will say is, dont be tempted by that crysis special edition (i got it when it was released as it came with a few extras) the soundtrack consisted of just creepy jungle sounds and the like. Not worth it.

My favourite would probably be gta vice city.

Final Fantasy VII has some of the greatest pieces of music ever.

+1

Must say though that the themes from Space Harrier and Outrun always evoke some very fond arcade memories from when I was younger ;)

Shadow of the Beast (stunning for 1989).

Did you ever hear the Psygnostic Soundtracks CD? Had some music that was, I can only say inspired, from the games, though I think the original music was better.

Oblivion by Jeremy Soule is one of the greatest musical productions I've ever heard.

The way he captures the feeling of being outdoors, the beautiful transitions through his tracks and his ability to every single time i listen to the tracks, make my hair stand on end throughout.

Some of his other compositions are amazing, but nothing at all compares to Oblivion. I think without his music, the game wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful as it was.

Given it's age and the way it worked with the game, I'd say the Total Annihilation one was better, nothing like getting stuck in with some peewees and suddenly a rousing tune would kick in!
