Gameboy advance?

Hi guys ive just managed to get a gameboy advance for £7 off a well known auction site.

i am a bit dissapointed in the quality of the picture thou, is there much difference on the advance sp ?

SP has exactly the same screen but it's backlit so better in low light conditions.

When they were popular you could mod an Advance with an 'afterburner' which are basically backlight tubes. May be able to source one somewhere.

difference is huge, you can actually see things on the GBAsp ,alternatively if you have the cash get a DS/DSlite (unless you need multiplayer functions)

it was more for just a long plane flight, i was under the impression the sp was a charge up battery, and if so how would i go about using it on a long haul flight?

You should look for a micro though, that's the ultimate incarnation of the GBA.

I used to have one of the original GBA's but lack of a back light was just annoying, i ended up selling it after not using it much then I managed to bag a GB Micro off egay very cheaply and I have to say, the screen on the Micro is so much nicer to use.

It is a bit smaller but its fully back lit and very vibrant, plus the size of the Micro is nice. I find it fits in my hands pretty well

Its a shame the screen technology used in the GBA Micro was not used in the GBA original, since in my opinion the original was more ergonomic and comfortable on the hands. Would have been best of both worlds back then and coming from classics like the Sega Game Gear or Neo-Geo Pocket Color, the rectangluar shape is almost perfect. Good thing theres the DS/DS Lite although shame for the upcoming DSi.
