Best to get gamecube controllers or can you use the Wii classic controller?

Looking into getting a few gamecube games to knock my game count up :)

Thought they re-released GC controlers in Wii colours? Could have sworn I saw the boxes in shops

And yes AFAIK you need a GC controller and memory card to use GC games on the Wii.

The boxes in the shops are third-party ones that the (now one company) games shops have cleverly started stocking because Nintendo seem uninterested in making them any more. Which is a shame, as I'd kill for them to make a few more Wavebirds.

Has anyone tried these pads? If they're decent I'll get a couple more wireless ones.

On the plus side, they're only a tenner for the wired ones.

I'd be interested in this too... Have got one Wavebird that I bought from a guy I work with, but can't find anywhere stocking them online or on the high street, and they're going for stupid prices on the bay. I'd have thought Nintendo would be rubbing their hands with glee as Wii owners would be snapping up Wavebirds for use on the Wii. They must be making so much cash on the Wii and DS that it's not worth the effort for them to produce more Wavebirds

I got a second hand Wavebird for £4.99 fully boxed and in perfect condition from a high street game store. Couldnt believe my luck. Also have one wired Gamecube controller and a few games liek Mario Kart Double Dash as well.

Suprised Nintendo havent rereleased the Wavebird as there is definitely a market for it, maybe its just the fact that your average Wii owner probably doesnt know what a Gamecube is.
