well my friends got me a gamecube and mario kart for christmas as i've been thinkin about buyin one for some time now seeing as their pretty damn cheap

Just been to town to pick up a few more games but was shocked to see that every where I went hardly had any gamecube games in stock.

I usually go into the second hand shops with my friend quite often to check out the retro games etc and there are usually loads of gamecube games but it seems this christmas people seem to have cleaned out most shops of them?

Has anyone else noticed this?? maybe people buying them to use on the Wii??

Can't say I've noticed.

Whatever you do make sure you get the remake of the original Resident Evil, one of the best console games ever and definately the best remake :)

As far a retailers are concerned, the cube is dead and gone :(

get onto ebay, theres thousands on there :D

i was talking second hand lol dont expect to see any brand new games in shops nowdays

watchin a few games i want, but would have rather picked a couple up today lol as awesome as it is, theres only so long you can play mario kart for

Ive noticed this too, they seem to be selling less and less Gamecube and Xbox second hand titles, and giving more and more room to the new generation of consoles. Could just be for the Christmas shelf space, could be a sign that no one was buying them.

I tried to sell my GC and games a while ago. Not much interest :( Still got Eternal Darkness and 1080 Avalanche left though, if they take your fancy let me know :)

Kinda hard to recommend where to go to get games really what with the limitations on competitor speak around here. Saw a copy of Baiten Kaitos in a shop the other day for £18, was very tempted, just because I'd heard so much about it...that reminds me, I must go back and finish Tales of Symphonia...I stopped about 2/3 to 3/4 the way through, then when I came back again a couple of months later, couldnt remember what I was meant to be doing :(

Add MGS Twin Snake to that too, Another good remake on the Gamecube.

Gamecube was very popular with me at one point, Considering my fave 3 game franchises are Res Evil, MGS and Final Fantasy. al though Crystal Chronicles was pooh :(

There's a local computer exchange place here in Nottingham (it also has a website, and can be found in many cities) that often has a good variety of Gamecube games. However, whilst some are bargains (Rogue Leader/Squadron at £5 each), a lot of titles are £20+. Whether this is because they were particularly rare (like Zelda) or because there's a high demand due to Wii owners snapping up second hand GC games I dunno.

you won't get mgs unless your willing to pay the full price on da bay, its like gold dust...

I agree with your fav franchises though :) good taste

Wii owners getting a bunch of classic games on the cheap, every gamestop ive been in i hear the same thing from the guys behind the counter, GC's are staying on the shelves but the games are vanishing just as fast as wii games.

I'm pretty sure one of the major high street games shops which also deals in 2nd hand games removed most of their GC and DC games a couple months before Christmas to give more room for current gen games. I think they'll be putting them back out after the new year so should have more of a range then :)

I've been to both these places and they literally have empty shelves. they guy at the counter of the popular one on angel row said they nearly sold out of all gamecube stuff recently. my guess is people buying it all for crimbo for the wii

they ususally have quite a large selection of gc games there too, including MGS for £14 i believe it was

EDIT: as a side note, whats the best vid cable to get for it? at the min im usin the crappy composite and its shoddy :( would component on the digital AV port really tidy up the image that much? is there an official component cable?

RGB does the trick nicely, I've found. Have you tried the one near Westworld, up from M&S and McDonalds? They had a fair few titles when I look just before Chrimbo. There's also the shop on Maid Marian way opposite Games Workshop, sells lots of niche/goth stuff which used to have an excellent selection of 2nd hand stuff.

only tried the one on exchange walk (near maccy d's and westworld), they did have the best selection but still nothing that really lept out at me, maybe super paper mario but that was about it. Will try the one near maid marrian way next week, it's a shame that place hasn't got as big a pre-owned collection as it did before the shop moved from near super-fi :(
