I have just bid on Gamecude Rogue Squadron 2 & 3 as they were titles I always wanted to play but wouldn't have coughed up for a GC for them. Now I can play them on the Wii I wondered if the Classic controller will work or will I need to find myself a GC controller?

You'll need a GC controller.

Classic controller is only for Virtual Console games.

GC controller is for Gamecube games and Virtual Console games.

Makes Classic Controllers pretty pointless imo, as a GC controller is similar price and you don't need to hang the wii-mote out of it.

A Wavebird will last 3-4x longer on batteries too.

The Classic Controller is far from pointless - for a start the GC controller will only definitely work on NES/SNES/N64 VC games, not all VC games (although the non Nintendo VC games released thus far are GC controller compatible). Additionally the Classic Controller is much more suited to playing VC games because of the button layout.

I've got a Wavebird and a Classic Controller and having both is definitely the way to go if you can afford it.

im thinking of getting,, Geist,, anyone played this??
I was looking forward to that before I gave up on the cube, forgot it was released.

Edit: and for £12 new I may as well :)

Classic Controllers are far from pointless, I agree. In fact, I much prefer to use the Classic Controller. The Wavebird is a lovely pad, but useless in Street Fighter II, and I can imagine many games. Bought a second one today so my bro can't blame the Wavebird for me kicking his bum.

I think IGN noted that it was more comfortable to play LttP with the CC - although that makes sense as the CC is a SNES-based pad.

/EDIT: I bought those two games second hand for about £12 around a year ago. Top titles, still nice graphics even now.
