Recently they were sold off to ATGames Digital Media (who  ). So Gamefly bought out Direct2Drive in 2011 & now they have been sold themselves. If you have any games directly with them not Steam keys backup them up as its unsure how long ATGames are going to keep legacy purchases from D2D/Gamefly as downloadable.

"GameFly digital customers: GameFly has sold its digital download business to AtGames Holding Ltd. GameFly will continue to operate the digital download business for AtGames until later this year or until the transition is complete. Possibly dumb questions incoming:

What's the best way to backup a download - copy the existing files or download the game a second time to another location?

For games downloaded directly from Gamefly (presumably DRM free versions as that seemed like a good idea at the time) that can apparently be activated on Origin, would it now be a good idea to now do this?

Some of them self activate via online Securom as you install them just backup the folder (usually contains 8 numbers) the download came in it usually contains all the files. Also make a note of all your serial numbers from your gamefly app & keep those safe as no-one knows when/if the new owners will pull the plug on older games.

For Steamworks titles nothing needed as Steam holds them for you already in your library.
