I've used a wired one with games and it works really well.
Worth buying as a gamepad even if you don't own a 360.

raitasar said:You can plug them into service pack 2 and they'll work right off as far as I know. I just did it. Not sure if it's bundled with SP2 or if it's a windows update addon, but they're marketed as fully working with windows...
Wow can't wait for that!Shamikebab said:Microsoft are realeasing a USB dongle thingy that will let you use Xbox 360 wireless controllers on your PC this year at some point.

Can bind a Ventrilo push-to-talk-key to the controller and sit downstairs and chat, awesome!![]()

It's a perfect controller really, comfy, high quality and yeah the d-pad is pretty solid in my opinion, does have rumble on it too but not all games support it sadly.Cyber-Mav said:iv not used the 360 conroller, how is it?
iv used the ps2 pad before but its seperate direction buttons on the D pad make it arkward for fighting games like streetfighter etc to get the special moves out.
and my original sidewinder pads are not supported by windows x64 since the gameport is now abolished![]()
does 360 pad have a solid D pad like the old snes pads used to? need it mainly for fighting games so special moves need to come out proper.
I have no ideaCyber-Mav said:will it work on 64bit windows?

I've used mine to play PES6, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, POP and various other games all without a problem.
I can't say I've used the D pad much. I started playing PES with it but quickly switched to the analog stick as it offered more control. I haven't switched back since. I've not tried it with any fighting games but it feels no different to the D pad on the PS2 pad. I've not noticed any lag but I can't say I've looked for any.Cyber-Mav said:how is the D pad on it? good for streetfighter style games? and how is the response? any delays or lag because its wireless?
The range is excellent as is the battery life. I only use my pad a metre or so away from the computer but I've tried it downstairs, through the ceiling, and it worked and I've tried it in my brothers room about 8 metres away, through 2 block walls and two doors, and it worked.Cyber-Mav said:how is the range and battery life on it too?? looks like you may have found me a good pad there.
