Yes the analogue buttons work in Vista, and the controller works especially well if you get the XBCD drivers working. The default drivers will do though

using the XBCD+ drivers you can select setting with the analogue buttons as either 2 halfs of an axis (defalt), 2 seperate axis to allow them both to be used at the same time, or as just 2 digital buttons. The standard windows drivers also support full analogue
Yea the 360 pad is great for a lot of games, I didnt realise all the buttons were analogue though. Also the 360 headset mic will record sound in windows too if you need that
