gamepass forza horizon 5 possible with dualshock on w11? (ds4windows)

I have gamepass.

I cant seem to get my wireless x360 pad to work on w11, so I thought I would try with a dualshock.

I can pair it to the pc. I have downloaded an app called ds4windows, but the dualshock does not appear in ds4windows.

Any of you have any luck trying something similar? Should I resign myself to getting a new xbox controller?

Absolutely no help at all, but DS4 works with my dualshock on W10 with Forza 5.
The only time it didn't was when in Steam big picture mode.

Anecdotal and maybe no help, but on win 10 with a series x pad, sometimes it doesn't work properly, like steam will launch before the game itself lanches and come up with a sync error or (xbox series x)the pad won't work.

Shutting the steam error message down or shutting steam down & re-launching seems to fix these issues, so basically sometimes I have to restart the game.

Once it's up and running it's fine for the duration of the session, it seems like there's something wrong with the startup sequence sometimes.
