To be fair a lot of the *better* advent calendars sell out quite quickly. Especially the makeup type ones.

Last year my wife got me a beer one. It was frickin awesome.
 
I started looking at fake trees on Amazon the other day. I blame the coca cola xmas ad of the 90s which someone graciously posted on my Facebook. Once the commercial is seen, it can never be unseen. Christmas has started..
 
was actually serious. I do the Xmas shopping early(ish) too make sure the stuff i want is in stock and also sometimes is on sale prior to the big Xmas hype.

However, i am struggling for a Xmas gaming advent calendar for the little lad.

Make one. No, I'm not joking. I made one for my wife last year full of personal little goodies that I knew she'd love. It was far more personal than anything I could've bought in the store and she absolutely loved it. I suspect your son would appreciate that too. I stole my idea from this site, I did the paper bag one. You could give your son the coolest little gifts in it!
