Seen Gamer glasses knocking about on ads and a few streams?. Is it a Gimmick or do they really help?

It claims to block out blue light which can lower the risk for eyes strain, headaches and dry eyes (which is what i experience from time to time) when in dark room for long periods

Most have like amber or yellow tint but quite expensive. Anyone got a pair? what your experience of them like??

Some monitors have a blue light reduction option in the menus like most of BenQ's monitors so make sure your monitor doesn't have this feature before buying these glasses.

In short though, Yes the glasses do work and aren't a gimmick especially on long gaming sessions with monitors that don't have the blue light reduction feature.

I don't own a pair but I did borrow a pair from a workmate when he went on holiday and they do the trick :)

Think OcUK sold them at one point, can't remember the name of the company but they were pretty big around the youtube gamer for BF4 mid point of last year, not really heard much about them since though.

If you want to try some just pick some yellow tinted glasses up from the supermarket, don't go dropping £80 + on Gunnars.

optic gunnars

they increase your k/d by 50%

well worth it, buy now

When i got my glasses from boots, they came with a blue light reducing coating because i work on computers all day.

Since then i have gone full MLG.

I can see the theory behind it. I used to get a load of headaches using computers generally, but I can't see the need to wear gaming glasses unless you get headaches and/or play 24 hours a day.

I have them and oddly enough the benefit i get is on TN panel I actually find them to make things worse on IPS. Perhaps it's the lighting at work I don't know but I can wear them for hours at home but not at all at work.

We considered selling them I don't recall actually selling them i might be wrong :)

Last time i checked they wanted us to take far too large MOQ to hit the sort of margin we would need for the stock risk.

Almost always a good indicator of a company that doesn't actually have confidence in its product's ability to sell :S

In terms of actual performance I'd rate (properly setup) bias lighting far ahead of gamer glasses and if you are having problems with the screen in terms of fatigue, etc. then you probably want to look at adjusting the room's ambient lighting and/or try and get as big a distance between the monitor and anything you'd focus on behind it i.e. the wall (not always possible in a bedroom or study, etc.).

Well if we had UK exclusive demands would be reasonable but as just a reseller meh not competing with amazon on that one.

No it doesn't reduce blinding it's hard to explain how much better it feels. I don't play better or anything I makes the light feel more natural I suppose.

Thinking to go down same route, as I was told I "should" get glasses. Debating to either just get a pair of prescription glasses with tint + blue light reduction coating" as I work in IT too. Or get a pair of Gunnar Intercepter for a resonance price?

Ps - sorry what is MLG??

Major League Gaming! Blue light makes you worse at games. KD/R has gone up dramatically!

Can't see a huge different between my current glasses and my old non coated ones, but i havent had a headache since, so i've got that going for me.
