i notice that a lot of new games are tending to focus more heavily on the spectator visualising an aspect of a game, sitting back allowing the game to do the work, as opposed to controlling and doing in real time?

for example, GT4 , B Spec mode. what was all that about? complete the game without ever having to drive a race yourself?

another FFXII, Gambits, pre set your characters to cast x spell in x instance and do Y in another.

is real time thought even required in these kind of games any more?

obviously Nintendo is currently going in the opposite direction where actual, and Physical Participation is the key. id be interested to know what anyone else thinks about this issue
