Gamers Nexus lay into NZXT

No one is forced in to renting these machines and spending a lot of money surely. It’s like blaming a car dealer for selling expensive car finance. Sure it’s a bit dodgy but they haven’t forced anyone in to buying anything.
Yeah I'm with you on that, no one forced them to rent it and looking at the conversions, who's renting a PC for £200 a month its just such a high price and their graph showing if you diy and save you're done in 7 or so months but if you kept it for years you're paying more than a car

It's entertainment at the expense of crappy big companies. But GN do praise good customer service. Generally a decent channel, will give this one a watch this week

Personally I can't get enough of these videos. They never fail to deliver.

Indeed, and its actually watchable content unlike the utter drivel linus and j2c put out.

Now I think of it, I cant actually remember the last time I watched original content from Jay, its been regurgitated clickbait for so long.

Whilst very scummy, who in their right minds rents a pc. It's not an 'expensive' purchase or a needed purchase.

The consumer is a mug for falling for this in the first place.

I find it hard to agree with those defending a massive company like NZXT by saying "well nobody forced people to buy anything".

The devil is in the detail and the amount of spec switching/disparity, stealth price increases, ridiculous contract terminology etc is enough to convince that's it's designed to screw people over.

It isn't the rental part or really even cost, it's the bait and switch PC parts, the lies on the website, the lies in the advertisements, the really bad T&C setup to basically cause failure if you have issue etc.

There a lot more to it than purely bad value. It's all the other parts that go with it. People whom rent these things won't be us that look up every part. It could well be parents whom honestly aren't financially savvy and just go oh look we can afford monthly to rent that machine and it good etc.

The charts being same but with different parts, the way you become trapped and they keep upping the monthly costs and then addi g a cancellation fee mid contract etc. The liability of a wrong payment being pushed for 60 days only.

I’m not saying it’s a good deal really. But people should know what they are getting themselves in to. Just a bit fed up with these sorts of sting videos I suppose, then the comments full of the faithful ‘that’s the last NZXT product I buy’ wonder which manufacturer they will move on to next.

I'm glad Gamers Nexus make these types of Videos, they make us aware & bring these firms to account. Me = I'd put the rental fee aside each month, I'd have saved enough to buy bits for a budget gaming rig in a few months.
It is designed for short term rental; not someone who even wants to own a system.

I love these videos, let's see more!

I haven't got a problem with rent a PC (Say overclockers had like 2060/2070 stick etc) at a reasonable price

But the base build on NZXT comes with a 3050 and after the year you've basically paid the price of the PC

So at that point you may as well have just financed that PC to own
