did i read somewhere you can save your gamer tag to a USB stick then login to your XBlive account on any machine using it ?

how would i do that ?

would it keep track of your rank on games like blops and bc2 ?

You can indeed, once you have plugged in and formatted a USB stick you can simply move a profile to it. If that stick is in an XBox the account(s) on the stick show in the usual way along with any accounts on that XBox. I use this method to log into a couple of 360's. All your gamer score etc is tied in with this, just not the save games unless you move those seperately (or save to the stick from the start).

Just go in to System Settings / Memory and move your profile from the HDD to the USB stick. I've been doing it a while now - all my game saves and profiles are on the USB stick, game installs and demos are on the HDD.

Your ranks on the games you specify are stored on the server.

Completely unrelated and totally off-topic but for reasons unknown I hate when people call Black Ops "Blops"... don't know why!
