Hi my names Nick and I'm addicted to computer/console games.

I'm working in Germany this week, bought my PS3 with me but can't get the hotel TV onto the AV channel.

I'm actually considering buying a monitor with HDMI connection from the big electronics store over the road. I already have a monitor I'm happy with at home but I could use this new one at work after.

Or am I just crazy and should wait till the weekend when I'm home to satisfy my needs.

Serious replies welcome, though this is GD so I'm not expecting much. :p

Hope everyone is cool.

Hahah, you know you are addicted when....you're considering purchasing an HDMI mointor to play your games on :)

The Germans are pretty big gamers, why not go into reception and ask if they could hook a brother up? You never know!

No can't say I blame you, working away and stopping in hotels can get boring in the evenings.... Hotel TV isn't much cop at times reason I take my Laptop which has a decent ish gfx card and a PSP when I'm working away etc...

Buying a HDMI screen to play your PS3 in the evenings when stuck in a hotel room doesn't sound silly to me, but some might have other ideas.. lol

perhaps the model of the tv has an engineer's setting....a code you enter so you can set the tv up to not be in hotel mode. Browse the internet and see if you can find it.

You took your PS3 with you?

You've got some issues man, I'm sorry but 7 days is not a long time.

Yep that's sad, it's only a console game aswell, not even WoW or something.

Go get drunk, find a girl or get a hooker.

lol it does get boring when you're working away and spend your sparetime in a hotel room.. Maybe he has a gf back home, and getting drunk when you've got work the next day isn't a top idea..:D

Portable games console or a decent laptop with blu ray or DVD and can play games is the best method to combat the boredom of being stuck in a hotel room... ;)

Well I spent 2 weeks here before so I already saw the sights and drank with the locals.

I do have a laptop with some films, no internet though as it's 8 euros for a day or 29 for the month, using works in the day anyway.

So I can either spend the next few days getting through my film collection or buy a monitor, the price isn't bad either, cheaper than the uk, I can then either sell it on or use it for work.

Also I have a car so getting it home won't be a problem.

Hmmmmm tempting.

hmmm. If you are there for a while and working I can understand I suppose. Maybe a room move would cost less and have other benefits than buying a TV. or rent one or buy and then take it back after a few days and get your money back.

I don't envy you, hotels are no fun when you are working.

Biggest addicts are probably Germans and French on PC. Every server I go into you either have a French person who sounds like he/she is crying by constantly wailing 'Puuuuutttaaaaaaaa' into the microphone or Germans that sounds like the SS.
