Hi I have recently upgraded my memory in my pc also my system is a fresh install of windows and when trying run games its minimising the games and suggesting i turn aero off

Only thing is i got 16gb ram installed (it also did this when i only had 6)

Before anyone asks the 16gb is a new kit and the 6gb is not in anymore

I looked online and come across options to change windows page file size and i did this and its not helped so am guessing its not the option

The 2 games that does it always is dirt 3 and batman arkham city (this stutters bad as well but am sure more will do same when i test

My graphics are gtx 600 series

Is this a common problem were some tweaking needs to be done

Thanks and any advice will be appreciated

Forgot to mention I use a 120hz monitor and i just checked my settings and monitor was at 60hz yet trying to run games at 120hz it seems fine now but only tested for 10 mins it might only be coincidence though

Bf3 does this to me. The work around was to set Windows to basic when I run Bf3. To Do this Right Click on the game shortcut, then properties click Compatibility tab and the tick the box Disable desktop composition.

Now each time you Run the game windows will Auto switch to basic for you, and then when you close the game it will switch back to normal viewing.

Problems come back so it not the hz issue

Its daft should not need to turn aero off when got 16gb ram to play with but if cant solve it will do what you suggest
Thanks

I get the same thing using the WoW 64 bit client on 8gb RAM, it only asks to disable it now and then so I just use Windows Basic theme

It's vram that causes it. I get it if playing WoW. You can't increase it. It's the memory on your graphics card. Use Afterburner to monitor how much you are using.

My card has 3GB vram Its a bug in windows. When playing BF3 am using about 1.5GB vram and about 53% of RAM so its not hardware. I only get it happen on BF3 and turning off Aero when running BF3 works great.

I had that problem too when i had only 4GIG of ram, playing BF3 i got another 8GIG giving me 12GIG total and have never had a problem since, i only have a 5770.

I just done a quick check to see how much ram i have on my card using DXDIAG/Display tab it says i have 2797MB don't know how since the 5770 comes with 1024
