Sorry if this is wrong place to open this thread, if it is, can a mod move it please?.

But I was just wondering what sensitivity you guys use, as in;

OS;
Mouse;
DPI;
Windows;
Drivers;

For me, I use;

OS; Vista Ultimate x64
Mouse; Razer Deathadder
DPI; 1800dpi
Windows; 5/11
Drivers; 9/10

Anyone figured out getting that perfect 1:1 pixel ratio?

Would like a general knowledge on how people differ with their sens!

Thanks.

Bit hard to compare sensitivities with all those variables, particularly when some of them don't even apply to all mice, and most games will have their own sensitivity setting as well. Something like distance for 180 degree rotation is more useful. I use about 45mm/180 degrees.

If you mean making it so that if you move the mouse a certain amount it moves the cursor x pixels on the desktop then in game if you move the mouse the same amount then the crosshair will be over whatever was x pixels to the side of the crosshair; then that's actually impossible because it's perspective view so distance and angle aren't linearly related.

Which settings to not apply? or are you talking about the DPI?

0.67 is my setting across all games that i play (which are only source games and CoD series), i however use around 350mm/180 degrees just as a comparison.

The closest you can get to having a 1:1 pixel ratio is having 6/11 in windows, it is not a perfect 1:1 ratio but is pretty close as it depends on resolution ect.

This link is very informative however im not sure it may be classed as a competitor forum or something along those lines.

I wanted to get a general idea of how everyone has their mouse sensitivity set within windows and mouse drivers.

I kinda added games on the title, which I shouldn't have since the gaming perspective differs.

Been reading up about the difference in XP and Vista and wanted to get a general knowledge of how you lot have your sens set, as been stated that although you can not get an exact 1:1 pixel ratio, people have said that 6/11 on your windows sensitivity give the closest to 1:1.

But upon reading from other sites, people claim that XP and Vista are different in the sens, meaning that 6/11 in Vista feels faster/smoother than XP on 6/11, some even say it's completely different.

I used to run Vista Home Premium 64bit at 6/11 however couldnt find any fixes for mouse accleration, with XP i am able to disable acceleration completely therefore i cant really get a good comparison between the 2, lets just say that i prefer XP because fo this.

Yeah, i think thats another factor that affects the sensitivity. Although some state that Vista doesn't have accelleration, but some say Vista does but there's a registry fix like XP's.

OS: Windows XP Home.
Mouse: Logitech MX510
DPI: Whatever the mouse came with (800 I think...)
Windows: 6/10
Drivers: Not Installed:
Games: whatever the default sensitivity is.

I have never bothered to adjust the sensitivity in-game - I see no point. I find the default sensi to be perfectly good enough for me.

The driver setting mainly, some mouse drivers don't have it at all, and the drivers that do have it are likely to all be on different scales.

Oh, I was talking about something completely different.
