My 4 year old boy is showing an interest in PC gaming after doing ICT at school. What games/apps out there would be suitable for him to play and possibly learn from?

I think of Minecraft and the the Lego games then my mind goes blank. We tried Train Simulator a while back but he found it a little boring. Anyone have any suggestions for suitable games and educational game/tools?

TIA.

My son (five now) has been playing Farming Simulator 17 and 19. He started playing Farming Simulator on my PC / Xbox when he was about four years old. He absolutely loves it. I have had to make a few modifications i.e money cheat so that he can buy whatever he likes, but what he's learned from it is absolutely amazing. He farms properly, and loves playing it. He actually had a conversation with a farmer a few months back and the farmer was quite surprised at what he was talking about!

In terms of other learning etc, I couldn't really help with that at the moment.

Hmmm, problem is I can't remember off the top of my head if any of the below have swearing etc, however suggestions anyway...

Terraria,
Starbound,
Stardew Valley,
Sonic games - All Stars Racing Transformed for a mario kart experience too,

Mini Metro,
Toki Tori,
Heroes of Might and Magic 3,

Worms,
Deponia?
Dungeon Defenders (I prefer 1 to 2, but 2 is FTP),
Epistory,
Factorio,
OpenTTD (FTP),
Fez,
FTL,
A Game of Dwarves,

Lumino City,
The new version of Theme Hospital whatever it's called - Two Point?,

Portal?
Reus,
Scribblenauts?
Slime Rancher,
Trine,
Plants Vs Zombies,

Spelunky.

The ones with B/U are the ones I'd look at first, then B, then no emphasis, question marks for ones that I've not played/not sure about. You've already mentioned MC and Lego games which are a good start IMO.

Amazing Frog.. it's a hidden gem on steam. My daughter has enjoyed it for ages! multi-player split screen if you have more than one controller too.
My time in Portia - he'll need a help with it but it's a nice little game.

My kids at that age used to play the games off the CBeebies website. RC Racers is a good one and Tabletop Racers too I think its called. My eldest originally got hooked on driving games and my youngest just played Cbeebies games.
Now they play Fortnite, Fifa, World of Warships........

One thing dont ever listen to the people who say they are too young to be using a computer. I used to get this especially the grandparents. Being in IT and the way the office is now if you are computer literate you have a massive advantage. Also I had been in a lot of schools doing training of staff and seen the amount of IT kit they have. Going into the IT support room and seeing ipads piled high like massive towers and laptops etc all over the place.

When they both started school and they started doing ICT they were light years ahead of most of their friends who couldnt even use a mouse or keyboard and for a while they kept telling me during ICT time they were just allowed to use a laptop on their own by the teacher and get on with the exercises or maths games and most of their classmates were doing mouse/keyboard skills.
